Dorito Dangers

Doritos

Well, looky here! I read that the CEO of Frito / Community describes Doritos as a ‘ healthful snack. ’ Well, I had to check that out. Who knows? Maybe I could start eating Doritos.

So off to the lacework! Holey Moley! It takes a special propitious of dictionary to term Doritos as healthful.

Let’ s a quick look at just some of the ingredients, in the grouping listed on the tag, and you’ ll spot what I close.

Whole corn: Well, that sounds okay. Omit for one thing. Nearly 90 % of corn comes from genetically modified seeds. Since Frito / Domicile goes through a gazillion tons of corn making its lines, they have to use GMO ( genetically modified organisms ) corn.

You don’ t get GMO foods by tweaking the seeds just a little. You have to create a whole new make-up, one not observed in nature. And looker much untested, so eating it makes us guinea pigs.

Grotesque tests grandstand play that GMO foods damage DNA. Progeny of GMO eaters experience greater - than - average fertility issues, and their grandchildren are aseptic. And in people? Check back with me in thirty senescence or so– after it’ s too overdue.

Governments around the world seem to think that’ s just fine and dandy.

Vegetable oils: Vegetable oils cause internal inflammation, which leads to chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, autoimmune, and on and on.

And soy oil is one of the oils listed. Yikes! Why not just shoot your thyroid? Plus, we mustn’ t slight soy’ s fictitious estrogen and the damage that does. Or the actuality that soy strips away our minerals. And leads to kidney stones. And on. And on.

Cheddar cheese: What can feasibly be out with good senile cheddar? It’ s made from plant - farm milk complete with antibiotics, hormones and pus, although the control limits the pus level. Reassuring, eh?

Maltodextrin: Maltodextrin comes chock - a - block full of the amino acid, glutamate. Glutamate’ s whole meaning in life is supercharging our brains.

Other aminos keep things balanced, but glutamate alone, as in maltodextrin, revs up the brain to toxic levels. So we’ re language brain damage.

Whey: Whey oftentimes comes from soy. I know, I know, some people say soy promotes health. Well, no.

MSG: Spelled out, we’ re speech monosodium glutamate. There’ s that glutamate word again. The excitotoxin that beats up on our brains.

Buttermilk solids and Romano cheese: Like the cheddar cheese uppermost, this comes from mill farms.

Partially hydrogenated oils: In case regular vegetable oils don’ t do enough health damage, Frito / Locality shoots hydrogen through them– which multiplies the problems.

Disodium phosphate: Adding to your munching excitement, eating a lot of Doritos may bring the miserable eventuality of diarrhea. Perhaps getting the Doritos out of your system quickly is the healthful part.

Dextrose: In purified foods, this usually consideration corn syrup, a health enemy– especially to the liver. It can cause depression and enervate, perhaps since it slurps up your body’ s B vitamins.

Natural and simulated flavors: Recurrently from soy.

Artificial color - Craven 5: Low 5 can spark straw fever and rashes. And anybody sensitive to aspirin should avoid it.

Sodium caseinate: Our buddy, MSG, rears its ugly head again in this milk protein.

Disodium inosinate and disodium guanylate: Categorized as purines, these two torment makers can aggravate gout big time. Adding to the merriment, they repeatedly come from soy.

Then come more milk solids, more whey and more corn syrup.

This is healthful?

On the intense side, Doritos have garlic powder and bell peppers in them. Feasibly that’ s what the CEO had in mind when she described Doritos as healthful.

Bottom line: Like Doritos, most of what we espy on store shelves is bad for us. But somewhat than point fingers, we have to understand that store shelves clasp what our dollars tell food companies we want. If we didn’ t buy it, they wouldn’ t make it.

Body Posture Affects Moods

A recent article from Canwest Facts Service verbal that recent research conducted at Hobart and William Smith College in New York state, has found that the “ mere act of folding your arms increases passion and activates an unconscious inclination to succeed. ”

Now the first response of people when they notice someone with his / her arms folded, is to think back to their classes on non - spoken behaviour and think, “ Oh, that person in being defensive”. And it is true that frequently the folded arms gesture indicates an unwillingness to acknowledge with what a speaker is suggesting.

However, it now appears that something wider might be in play here as well, and the most engaging part of the research is that not only do our non - verbals representation what we might be thinking, but our non - verbals might also trigger a psychological state that may create what we think.

The folded arms folks in the research study spent more time on an impossible - to - solve anagram ( word rumpus ), and in innumerable study came up with more correct solutions to a puzzle than those who were asked to sit with their hands on their thighs.

Regularly we think that the psychological state leads to body movement, but it appears that this works both ways.

What this suggests, then, is that we may have a range of other alternatives to use to modify our moods and mental states. ( Besides food! )

Method actors present to have unmentioned this for agedness. In tidiness to “ get into” the temper of the character being portrayed, the performer will adopt the felicitous posture. If the character is melancholy, dejected, or destitute, then the trouper will occasion by adopting a hunched stance, point down, shoulders slumped, etc. That body posture creates an internal sensuality in the trouper which s / he is then able to bear to the audience.

Keep forever the song from, I think, Sound of Music – Whenever I feel jumpy, I hold my head erect, I whistle a happy tune, etc. Looks as if the songwriter had it right.

Next time you want to change your mental state, try changing your body posture first and make out what reflex is has on your spirit. It might be easier than trying to talk yourself out of a bad spirit.
